Sponsor a Disadvantaged and At-Risk Israeli Child through EMUNAH

“A messenger sent by God to watch over and protect a person or place.”

At EMUNAH Israel, we believe that every child deserves love, care, and a safe, nurturing environment. One in which they can dream, thrive and fulfill their greatest potential. Unfortunately, many of the children in our care have experienced physical, mental and/or sexual abuse along with abandonment and neglect by their families. Others, come to EMUNAH as orphans dealing with the trauma and loss of their parents. Coming to an EMUNAH Residential Home gives them a chance for hope, healing and a brighter future.

EMUNAH’s Guardian Angel Sponsorship Project allows you to make a tangible difference for just $40 a month. By becoming a Guardian Angel, you provide not only financial support, but also hope and compassion. When you sign-up to sponsor a child, we’ll match you with one of our children based on your personal preferences.

Meet Some of EMUNAH Israel’s Children

MEET TAMAR

Tamar has just turned 10 years old. She and her younger sister came to live at the EMUNAH Achuzat Sara Home in February 2025. Their father abandoned them years ago and, unfortunately,  their young single mother suffers from her own mental health challenges and is not stable enough to raise and support her children.

Tamar feels responsible for her younger sister and at the beginning of her stay used to put food aside, fearing that there would not be enough food left for her, as was often te case when living with their mother. Slowly but surely, she is allowing herself to “let go” and be a child again, not feeling the need to protect her sister. Tamar loves music and books, and has recently started taking guitar lessons.

MEET RONNIT

Ronnit is 12 years old, the middle child of five siblings. Her oldest sister has been at an EMUNAH Home for most of her childhood years, while Ronnit came to the Home only six months ago, by court order. Since her arrival, Ronit has begun to flourish and is making friends. She is excelling in her studies due to the ongoing support and added attention of the warm and loving staff at EMUNAH. Ronnit loves to draw and enjoys all forms of arts and crafts.

MEET MOSHE

Moshe is 9 years old and an only child. Due to major instability at home including parental illness, Moshe was placed in an EMUNAH Residential Home in the Spring of 2025 by court order. Moving into the Home provides Moshe with the care, support and love he needs to thrive. Unfortunately, his father passed away shortly after arriving at EMUNAH, and though he often feels alone and isolated, Moshe has begun to look at EMUNAH and the other children and staff as his family. For the first time in his young life, Moshe feels a sense of inclusion and belonging. Moshe likes the fact that he is now surrounded by so many children his age and is apart of the big “EMUNAH Family!”

MEET DAVID

David, an outgoing and energetic boy is nine years old and the youngest of four children. Due to neglect and instability at home, David and his siblings are no longer able to reside there. In the spring of 2025, Social Services placed David at an EMUNAH Home for his own protection. When he arrived, David could not read or write, and required additional academic support to catch him up to grade level. Now, he loves school and is excelling in his studies!  David’s passions include sweet treats – especially chocolate, and playing soccer with his friends!
