June Prayer Points from EMUNAH ISRAEL

Shalom and Blessings!

As Israel celebrates her 75th anniversary,  we are so thankful that EMUNAH has faithfully been here from the very start, meeting the needs of Israel’s most disadvantaged  and destitute individuals  including orphaned and abused children and families who have suffered so much persecution and pain.

EMUNAH is a Jewish charity providing life-changing services to help the most vulnerable children and families in the Holy Land. The aim is to break the cycle of distress, abuse and poverty, so that they can look to a brighter future in which they are able to build their own rewarding and stable lives and families. The Hebrew word ‘EMUNAH’ means faith, loyalty, stability, and faithfulness.

While the 75th Anniversary celebrations should have been more joyous, in reality it has been a dangerous and tumultuous spring for Israel—with war, rocket attacks, lockdowns (due to the danger of rocket attacks), terrorism, and government and social upheaval. In many ways, Israelis are in a very difficult season—politically, socially, and strategically. Especially in this challenging season, we are so thankful for the care, support, and prayers of our Christian friends, as we seek to be faithful to our calling to consistently care for the most needy in the Land.

Please would you pray (in faith!) with us this month…

For Safety in the Nation of Israel. Pray for the Lord’s protection and shalom over the Land and the people. Israeli civilians have endured thousands of relentless, terrifying rocket attacks in the month of May. Pray for healing and protection from the stress and trauma of these violent assaults. Pray for those facing the reality of terrorist attacks, anti-Semitism and persecution, in Israel and around the world.

My God, my Rock, in whom I take refuge, my Shield, and the Horn of my Salvation, my Stronghold and my Refuge, my Savior; You save me from violence. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. (2 Samuel 22:3-4)

For Stability for the Nation of Israel. Praying for shalom, unity, and healing in the Land. Pray for the leadership of Israel, especially Prime Minister Netanyahu, that God will give them wisdom to govern Israel in justice and righteousness:

Our Father in Heaven, Rock and Redeemer of Israel, bless the State of Israel, the first manifestation of the approach of our redemption. Shield it with Your lovingkindness, envelop it in Your peace, and bestow Your light and truth upon its leaders, ministers, and advisors, and grace them with Your good counsel. Strengthen the hands of those who defend our holy land, grant them deliverance, and adorn them in a mantle of victory. Ordain peace in the land and grant its inhabitants eternal happiness.   (From the Jewish Prayer Book)

For the Stability of Families across Israel. Pray that solutions can be found to the nation’s current divisive issues, as the instability in the nation overflows into family life. Please pray for these families who are facing extreme stress, trauma, and hardship in this season of danger and uncertainty. Pray for the EMUNAH staff, as they seek to meet the daily, practical needs of Israel’s most vulnerable families.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. (Psalm 138:7)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

For the tide to be pushed back against the alarming teen suicide rates in Israel, and across the globe. Pray for protection over the lives and minds of Israel’s Youth. May their hope be strengthened and renewed. May the Lord use EMUNAH as a conduit for help and healing for these hurting and vulnerable teenagers. EMUNAH serves Israel’s most at-risk teens through a variety of effective intervention programs, including their substance abuse rehabilitation programs, counseling services, a shelter for high-risk teen girls, and a residential home for high-risk boys from difficult family backgrounds.  (CLICK FOR VIDEO)

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)

For new bridges of healing and reconciliation between the Jewish community and the Christian community, especially as we work together to care for the orphans and the needy in the Holy Land.

Behold how good and how pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity. (Psalm 133:1)
